Highlanders Calving on the Hills

Hello folks. Our partnerhsip in owning three Highland cows with son-in-law Dave Ross and Trish our daughter is bearing fruit. All three of our cows have now produced a calf.
UInfortunately they are all bull calves so we will be looking to sell them off to dairy farmers wanting to use them in their herds with their heifers, being an easy-bearing offspring.
After our hectic but enjoyable trip south we are settling in to life at home for the meantime. We hav a builder coming in to start work soon on our proposed sunroom which will take the place of the patio cover. All very nicely designed by an architect, so it should pass the Council regulations.

Hello everyone again

Hello everyone again.
I congratulate everyone who has managed to locate this blog. I have also identified that when I edit a blogscript in WORD I can’t add Pix to it.
You may wish to go to our website for an update. There are 10 pix in a photo frame on the latest news page.

Visit South to Te Anau

Hi to all family and friends who happen upon this WebLog. This is a new step for us here so forgive any strange parts. I understand that it is a bit like a website but not so permanent.

We all enjoyed our trip South to Te Anau for Bess Sim's 90th birthday. We had a week to acclimatise before the BIG day. It was good to see the Matriarch lookng so well and ready to cope with anything.
The Saturday was also Betty's birthday [17th Sept], but so that we could get a good number there, she bravely gave up her day to her Mother - whose real day was 14th.
70 folk turned up on the day, and the buzz, if not roar, of conversation filled the little Church hall.
Lickily the day was fine and a lot of us went outside for chats. Were lucky to have all the Garrett family together for the first time in many years.
The first picture shows Grandma Bess cutting the cake. I can show pix 1/4 size, 1/2 size or full page size, but they are all originally bog files suitable for printing.
The 2nd pic, showng the Garretts is 1/2 size, to give you the idea.
Please comment at this stage. I don't know yet if you can download from here for printing but we can try it out.
Regards from Garretts at Motueka
